We are very excited about our home in this year’s 2021 Spring Parade of Homes. There are so many amazing features. Enough so, the home has been entered into the Dream Home category.

Here is what you will find when you visit:

  • With a commanding presence and a steel entrance facade, this modern European home’s exterior makes a dramatic statement on its lakeside location.
  • An open and flowing floor plan is enhanced by floor-to-ceiling windows that make the most of the lake views.
  • Rich, moody details balance beautifully with the bright, open, airy spaces.

  • The main level flows from the great room and dining room to the kitchen that is complete with a wine refrigerator, double ovens, and a scullery providing extra prep and storage space.
  • High-contrast finishes such as hand-carved stone, reclaimed oak, and luxurious metals and mirrors meld seamlessly throughout this dream home.

  • An owners’ suite on the upper level is a true getaway with its relaxing soaking tub and dual closets.
  • With a home gym, game room, wet bar, and guest suite, the lower-level showcases a purposeful design, intent on welcoming all to enjoy.
  • Once more, inviting you to enjoy the out of doors, a wall of multi-slide patio doors leads to a gas fire pit, patio, and pool, completing this lower level getaway.

2020 Artisan Home Tour

Sitting on the shores of Lake Minnetonka, this whole-home remodel has perfected lakeside living. The previous exterior finishes and rooflines encompassed an early-1990s era, but Revision, LLC took on the challenge to update and meld the home with the architecture of the neighborhood and the homeowners’ style.

The Narrative

The exterior of this stunning residence welcomes you with its cedar shake roof and siding, plus a gracious stone entry.

Working closely with the city, we were able to strategize a floor plan that created expansions needed for the homeowners while carefully considering the nuances of the lot and home position. Two previous remodels were thoughtfully weaved into this transformation to keep the design seamless.

Holistically, finishes make the space sing including the character grade white oak floors, coffered ceiling beams, and just the right touch of shiplap. The chef’s kitchen is complete with Sub-zero/Wolf appliances and a scullery to make dinner prep a breeze. Extending the functionality, outdoor living takes center stage with accordion doors leading out to a screened porch with a cozy fireplace, an indoor-outdoor bar area to enjoy a drink, and a deck to soak in the breathtaking views.

From the wine wall to the craft room to the golf simulator on the lower level, the home is a refined statement of luxury and amenity.

Stonewood Design Trend – Black Windows

White windows were absolutely the top pick for many, many years. As of the past few years, we’ve seen clients opting for a bolder look – black windows. We are completely on board with it and love the look! So we’ve rounded up a few of our custom builds where clients opted for black windows.

Traditional Lake home

Black windows can be a daunting choice to some, as many people think they are a ‘modern’ choice. Here they are in one of our most recognized homes, traditional in style with black windows and we love how it looks!

A view from the interior shows how they frame out the view, especially when you have white interior walls.

Modern Lake Home

A more modern home in itself, our Mountain Modern is the perfect architectural design for black windows. Additionally, we love how they provide some contrast on the interior and once again frame out the views to the outside.

Traditional Lake Home

Even further up on the traditional spectrum, this home has black windows and we couldn’t love it more. The provide a contrasting warmth to the space.

Now, we know that black windows are not for everyone, but wanted to show that they work well in a variety of architectural and design styles. No matter the style of home you prefer – we find that black windows can make a great statement!

See what’s happening at Stonewood!

We have some pretty amazing custom builds going on this year at Stonewood! Luckily we have two slotted for this year’s Luxury and Artisan tour’s, so stay tuned for more info on when you can come check them out!

While we have a dozen or more custom builds under construction right now, we wanted to highlight a few and share some fun renderings of what you will soon see on the shores of Lake Minnetonka.

  1. Our Casco Chalet is one project we are very excited about! With a mountain chalet vibe and a fun boat house – this home will be a place of many family memories.

2. Our Christmas Lake project is another show stopper with a grand exterior and great lake views.

All renderings are from Alexander Design Group.

Stay tuned for more updates as construction continues!

Stonewood Spaces

With Minnesota resident’s spending a lot more time at home right now, we’ve rounded up some of the spaces in our Stonewood homes that are likely being highly used during this time!

Suddenly working from home? Here are a few of our favorite home offices:

Suddenly entertaining your children? How about homeschooling? Here are some of our Stonewood spaces that could help!

Or if you’re lucky enough, you could be finding yourself catching up on Netflix shows…or hitting fitness goals in these spaces:

And if you’re like most of us – your kitchen has never been used more! With the dishwasher running more frequently and cookbooks being put to use, the kitchen seems to be what is holding us all together:

We hope you and your family are finding a new normal during all of this and enjoying more time spent together, while utilizing every room in the house!

Stonewood Open House on Palmer Pointe

It’s not every house we build that we get to host a party in! Our clients who built their home on the last remaining lot on Palmer Pointe wanted to celebrate their new home by letting us throw a party for them, their family, neighbors, our clients and more!

We partnered with the interior design firm, Studio M, the appliance vendor, All, Inc., and Cambria to provide small bites and beverages while our guests perused the newest Stonewood custom build. While we haven’t yet scheduled professional photographs of the house, but we can’t wait to show you how it turned out!

With amazing lake views, well thought out floor plan, this house is one we are proud of! Having built most of the homes on Palmer Pointe, it was fun to celebrate the last one with our clients, vendor partners, and hard working employees.

Stay tuned for the photos – we can’t wait to share! For now, here are a few we took while at the party to hold you over:
