1908
George Washington Shideman transitions from farmer to builder in the Albion-Brookfield area of Michigan. He built 100s of barns before his retirement in 1950.
1928 – 1934
During the peak of his building career, George Washington Shideman is committed to the local community in his role as Albion City Councilman.
1947
After serving in WW II, Harry Gustafson (pictured right) pursues his passion for building and begins developing real estate in the form of homes, bowling alleys, hotels, office buildings, restaurants and School Key on Sanibel Island. He served for years on the Edina Planning Commission and was seemingly always “in the room where it happened” for many decades.
1974
Harry’s son, Jeffrey Gustafson, started building homes and developing neighborhoods throughout the Twin Cities. Jeffrey’s wife Ethel led the interior design division of the business.
1980s – 1990s
Gustafson & Associates is known for their passion in building and the unique, custom designs of their homes. The company is continually recognized for their innovation in home design.
1993
Looking to the future, Gustafson & Associates rebrands as Stonewood.
1998
Jeffrey’s son, J. Sven Gustafson, joins the business. Stonewood focuses on building and remodeling homes in the west metro suburbs, Edina, Lake Minnetonka, Wayzata, city lakes & Kenwood.
2013
Stonewood launches their home renovation arm, Revision.
2016
Stonewood and Revision move offices from St. Louis Park to their current location in Wayzata.
