Craft Room with Room to Grow

This craft room, from our 2021 Artisan Home, features ample room for creating. The island, which is on lockable casters so that it can be moved throughout the room, is spacious enough to wrap large gifts, unroll and cut a from a bolt of fabric, and countless other possibilities. Additionally, as visible from the photos, there is plenty of storage on the island so everything needed for the current project is easily within reach.
The colorful pendants not only add to the charm of the space but provide direct, task, lighting so that eye strain is mitigated while working on finely detailed projects for an extended period of time.
Two separate sitting areas allow for multiple projects to run in parallel (artists can certainly attest to multitasking and how beneficial it is to be able to “step away” from time to time).

Aside from looking nice and perhaps being a source of inspiration, Craft Rooms need to be well beyond functional. Surfaces need to be practical, useable, and durable. For example, LVT (luxury vinyl tile) was used in this space. Not only does it provide a bit of forgiveness when standing for long periods of time, but it is also resistant to scratching and marring, such as might happen when rolling the island, and will be quite impervious to paint spills and other liquids that would blemish easily.
Satin enamel finish on millwork with show nicks and dings far less than a gloss finish.
Corian solid surface island and counter provide the perfect balance of beauty and livability. A perfect surface for any craft room.
