Our 2021 Award Winners

These gorgeous Minnetonka custom homes are rich in features and finishes. From stunning views of the lake to amenities that afford the utmost comfort, each of these award-winning custom homes has its own charm and character.

Below, you will find the videos of these homes submitted to the competition for judging.

About these Award-Winning Custom Homes

Built on a historic site that had been in the same family for three generations, this is a rare property overlooking Wayzata Bay.  The character of the vintage lake home that was demolished was reflected in our client’s new residence.  A home, modern in amenities but true to the area’s history, could be mistaken for one of Lake Minnetonka’s historic estates.

Designed for lake living & entertaining.  A quarter-mile-long driveway winds to the courtyard.  Cedar shingle exterior, roof & traditional millwork details.  A tasteful mix of natural materials.

The foyer, gathering room & kitchen walls are clad in intricate millwork details of alternating widths of shiplap, coffers, crown.  Artisan crafted cabinetry of black walnut and alder. A booth accommodates everyday dining in the kitchen adjacent to the two islands. The porch and bar flow to the terraced pool patios.

The craft room saw months of design to accommodate her sewing, embroidery, and other crafts.  His office is dressed in black walnut, incorporating bant doors, curved beam-work on the ceiling.

The lower level provides additional spaces for the owner’s passions.  Curved glass encases a sprawling wine collection.  The walnut pub, a reflection of the owner’s English heritage, is fed craft beer from the adjacent home brewery and walk-in cooler.

For our clients, who own homes in various parts of the country, their Lake Minnetonka getaway was an amalgam of traditional style, breathtaking décor, and spacious enough to accommodate their interests. Of the utmost importance, it is a place to unwind and relax.

Beautiful millwork immediately grabs your attention as you enter the home. Secondly, thanks to near floor-to-ceiling windows, the breathtaking views of Lake Minnetonka come into view. Details and a comfortable flow are evident throughout. And the mindfulness of the home’s overall space is prominent.

A scullery is cleverly tucked behind the central area of the kitchen, accessible via an almost undetectable double-swing door. The living room is large enough for the baby grand but cozy and comfortable.  Adjacent to the formal living room is a less formal gathering area with more relaxed seating, a fireplace, TV, and yet more lake views.

The owner’s suite is replete with a bathroom comprising a soaker tub, beautiful custom cabinetry, striking tile, and more lake views. A small wet bar adjoins the bedroom. Upon entering the bedroom, you find large windows and a balcony looking onto the lake.

A perfect addition to the shoreline, this home is truly the ideal getaway.
