Home Renovations in Edina
by Revision Renovation & Remodeling
Oftentimes, a home renovation project is planned out and completed in phases, such as this Home Renovation in Edina.
Although everyone would like to have changes they are envisioning completed all at once, sometimes it is simply not feasible to undertake the entire remodel in one fell swoop.
The home, pictured here, went through several steps to reach the final result. Nearly 10 years and almost every room of the home was renovated, and the exterior of the home went through a complete transformation with new siding, roofing, and many architectural additions to heighten the charm this home already had.
One of the first areas addressed was the kitchen. The stove, the ventilation, and the brick behind were extremely unique and very much a focal point of the kitchen. These items were to remain, and everything else was to be designed around these key elements.
A very inviting Family Room
New windows, new millwork and cabinetry, a new fireplace, and fresh finishes on all surfaces brightened this room to the Nth degree. Cozy, comfortable, and furnished with room for the whole entire family to interact together by the warmth of a warm fire.
From Dining to Kitchen
Next on the list as we progressed through the home, was the addition of some functional space to the dining room without breaking too far out from the character of the rest of the home. Handcrafted cabinets served well in this case. Not only do they serve as a china cabinet, but a serving space also doubles as a functional desk space. And, as viewed from the kitchen, everything flows naturally together.
Personal Touches
Favorites of the family are these two spaces. The back entry was completely redesigned to add plenty of storage and functionality. As a unique touch, a wallpaper mural of family photos was created. Such an exciting focal point to a space that is typically overlooked.
The views of a nearby park were something that needed to be incorporated in the final design of the home office. Here, we see the sitting bench which looks out to the beautiful park just beyond. And when the snow settles on the ground, a warm fire will serve just as well as the view out the window in summer.
