This is why I love this business! Working with the best craftsmen in the custom home building business. Few carpenters can design & build such a complex structure, much less from simple 3/8″ plywood.
In less than 2 weeks, our team designed and fabricated this 3 story staircase onsite. Still early in construction, no piece of this stair is more than 3/8″ thick, yet it supports the weight of several people with very little movement.
This stair is in the foyer of our 2011 parade of homes™ model in Edina, Rolling Green. It’s a custom built home, not for sale.
This home is being built just off Lake Harriet and will serve as our fall Parade home.

Usually curved stairs a pre-fabricated in a factory… It’s not too many builders that build them from plywood, on site. The angles and radius’ involved are complex and can be confuse even a seasoned carpenter.
Our finish carpenter on this project has been site building curved staircases for over 23 years. Starting with raw plywood, cutting and laminating custom supporting beams… It’ll take him over 3 weeks to build this 3 level stair. Check back for progress photos as he installs the sections!
This stair is being built in our Edina, Rolling Green, model home for the 2011 Spring Parade of Homes™.
From the slate roof to the arcustone window details, stucco exterior, hand cut limestone patios, concrete pool, custom site built spiral starecase this home is French Provincial down to the smallist detail.
It’s this sort of detail that makes a house special. Detailed design or consecutive archways in the main gallery. Hard to visualize even standing in the space… But with 3D tools in the hands of talented architects, it comes to life. In this case, Peter Eskuche, of Eskuche Creative group.
We’re in the process of designing our next model home to be built in Medina, Minnesota. It’ll be built beside our 2010 Parade Home™ in the Willow Hill development. Last years home was selected as the “Dream Home” by the Builders Association of the Twin Cities.
Designed by Eskuche Creative group, interior design by Stonewood’s staff designers, to be Furnished by Martha O’Hara Interior Design. It’ll be approx. 8500 sq. ft.
18′ ceilings, 3 point line, awesome! Every kid should have one of these in their new home. 75% of the homes we built last year had some recreational space beneath the garage. This is a cost effective way to add 600-1000 sq. ft. to a new home. sportcourt.com
