For 4 generations the Gustafson family
has been building homes and
buildings throughout the Midwest.

The tradition continues with Stonewood, now led by J. Sven Gustafson. Our team of professional project managers has vast experience in the industry and are trained to build according to the highest standards for custom building defined by Stonewood. They enjoy the rigor and stability of working at Stonewood and build only a select few homes each year to ensure that each home and client receives the necessary time and effort to coordinate, immerse in the project and interact with the daily requirements of each home.

Sven Gustafson grew up the son of a home builder, learning all aspects of building quality homes from the bottom up. Working summers for his father, Sven spent a lot of time on job sites & interacting with clients. “I always thought of my father as an artist, on a large scale & knew that I wanted to follow in his footsteps as I developed my company.”

Sven works with all of Stonewood’s clients from the inception of their project – assisting in architect interviews, aiding in the selection of a building site, and overseeing the project throughout construction.

Founder and CEO of Stonewood LLC, Sven grew up the son of a home builder, learning the aspects of fine home building from the bottom up. He has been recognized as 40 under 40 by Mpls. St. Paul Business Journal as well as Professional Builder Magazine. He also has developed and markets industry leading construction project management software used worldwide by builders, remodelers and commercial contractors. In his free time, Sven enjoys skiing, boating, and spending time with his wife and three kids.

With over 20 years’ experience in the remodeling and home building industry, and a background in custom doors and window coverings, Rachel is easily recognized as a very important member of the Stonewood team. When not working, Rachel likes to bike, hike, travel to visit her daughters, read, and paint landscapes and animals.

Outside of work, Stacy enjoys her son’s baseball games and relaxing with her family and dogs, outdoors and year-round!

Steve has nearly 20 years of experience serving in various operations roles in homebuilding including Purchasing, Estimating, Administration, Construction, Service & Warranty.  This experience allows him to view each project as a whole where he strives to make the process run as smooth as possible for our team, our trades, and our clients.  In his free time, Steve enjoys spending time with his family hunting, fishing, and being active outdoors.

In his free time, Michael enjoys racing cars, paddle boarding, spending time with family and hunting.
